As well as Time Machine backups, of course. Maybe I am a bit paranoid but I did lose almost all of my photos, (slides), from my time in the Air Force when I was a fuzzy faced young lad a long time ago. Bit of a pain but I have a lot of photos I would not like to lose. ![]() I only connect my CCC backup disk for the time it takes to do an incremental backup and then the drive goes to a place removed from the house. While the risk of a ransomware attack may be small for Mac OS so far, my friend on a PC was compromised and decided to tell them to get lost but recovering from that was a lengthy PITA. ![]() My thinking for the CCC backup is that if I have a problem with the built in HD I can boot from the CCC back up and be up and running in the time it takes to do that. ![]() Well probably you are well enough backed up that way. Both are good I just now take a couple of my umpteen (Time Machine) backups to a safe deposit box to switch out with the drives there when I add some important things. I stopped using Carbon Copy, and will probably stop using Carbonite when my subscription expires.
